GaymerX has some really awesome announcements for ya’ll. We have decided that we *will* be putting on GXdev!

GXdev is a game jam focused on helping queer and diverse voices begin to make games. We believe that everyone has the power to make games, and the tools keep getting more accessible and easier to use. We want to encourage everyone, from first timers to experienced devs, to join us for a 24-hour game jam to make some really awesome new games!

GXdev will run January 9-11 for developers in San Francisco, CA. The games that are created during the jam will then be featured and open to the public to play on Sunday, January 18 at GXdev Showcase. You don’t need to attend both if you’re coming from out of town, but it’s a great chance to show your work off to the community!

A ticket to GXdev includes access to the dev event, light food and drinks throughout, and a ticket to GXdev Showcase. The event will start on Friday, January 9 at 6 PM, with jamming beginning at 8. It will run for 24 hours, ending at 8 PM on Saturday, January 10th. We’ll return on Sunday, January 11th in the afternoon after a nice, long sleep to network, check out each other’s games, get some grub and drinks, and give out some awards. We want to recognize everyone’s hard work!

We’re currently in negotiations with a few really cool venues in the Bay Area that can not only handle the size of our convention but also dig what we do and want to work with us. We’re hoping to lock down the dates and venue very soon – stay tuned to @GaymerX or GaymerX on Facebook for more updates!

If you bought your ticket on Kickstarter, you’ll be getting a BackerKit email by the end of the month with info on how you can redeem your backer items and tickets! We’ll also be announcing more Bosses of Honor and artists soon!

Above all, we will continue to encourage and celebrate diverse game devs and games of all types, to fight for safe spaces in gaming, and to support you – the gamer. Thank you for your support and love! Without it GX3 couldn’t even happen! You’re all a part of this.

Love, Team GaymerX
