New This Year at GaymerX – Diversity Theatre

The Expo Hall at GaymerX this year features a first, The Diversity Theater. Here companies and organizations will showcase their initiatives, offerings, and recruitment opportunities. Reinforcing the truth that diversity isn’t merely accepted in today’s game and tech industry, it’s in demand.

We’re excited about this great addition to our expo hall, where attendees can meet representatives from companies like Intel, Microsoft, LinkedIn and Patreon!

Our Hearts Go Out to Orlando

GaymerX attendees and fans,

This is a tragic and pivotal time for the queer community, after beloved members of our community were senselessly taken from us in Orlando. This unspeakable hate crime against our friends and family, gay & queer people of color at a gay Latinx event, shows just how at risk we still are every day in this country and why our fight is far from over.

For the rest of June, GaymerX will be donating $20 of all GaymerX Year Four (GX4) 3-day ticket sales to Pulse Victims Fund, Orlando Youth Alliance and Zebra Youth to a minimum of $1,500

Moving forward, we will be reviewing our security procedures with our team and Santa Clara Hyatt & Convention Center to ensure the continued safety of attendees and volunteers at our events.
GaymerX and its community stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ people of  Orlando and all of the people who now give support in the wake of this tragedy. We will continue to gather, we will continue to fight to build our community together as a family.

STRETCH GOALS!! ʕ•`ᴥ•´ʔ

Since GaymerX is run by our community, we wanted to give you all a chance to help us make it awesome!

We’ve added several stretch goals to help us do more! We really need your help to reach out to your friends, the ones who are gonna get that last minute day-of ticket, and make sure they get their tickets and back this campaign ASAP! Getting your tickets NOW makes it a lot easier for us to potentially expand and open up more tickets!

SPEAKING OF TICKETS, we are also opening up more early bird tickets! Some of you noticed and messaged us about how quickly they sold out. It seems like we’re going to be selling out sooner than usual this year!!

Below are the stretch goals we’re looking to reach! Once the campaign is complete, we will also be able to put ticket sales towards these goals as well, so the more tickets we sell the closer we get as well! ୧ʕ•̀ᴥ•́ʔ୨

It really isn’t a lot to raise so please keep spreading the word and also giving us your feedback because at the end of the day that’s gonna be a big factor in what we do!!

GaymerX Year Four is a GO!!

gx4

Please please please make sure to get your tickets and hotel rooms ASAP because they are going a lot faster than previous years! We will do everything we can to accommodate everyone who wants to go!

Get tickets here: http://gx4.eventbrite.com/

Get hotel rooms here: http://resweb.passkey.com/go/GaymerX16

As you may know, GaymerX has always been a project made for and by the community and your input is what drives the directions we move in. So we wanted to take this time to ask you some questions about what you’d like to see at our event!

MAGfest Arcade Presents the Open Indie Space!

magic-school-bus-2-300x242

Hideho~ It’s your friendly neighborhood gaymer Kayla, with more juicy info about GX3 and our new MAGFest Arcade. We’ve been hard at work in the salt mines making sure to deck it out with all kinds of fun things for you to explore and check out, and we have something super cool for indie game devs joining us at GaymerX this year!

GX3 would like to present to you the Open Indie Space! There will be 8 spots total open to those indie developers who would like to show off their games in the Arcade!

This fancy free space comes with some limitations because we like to make sure everything is fair and square here at GaymerX. So let’s go over the rules of engagement. (PS if you don’t get the reference even with the hint we can’t be besties but you can still get a space)download (2)

  1. Each developer will be limited to a 2 hour slot and no developer can have more than one slot in a day.
  2. You may request to be put on more then one day, BUT those who haven’t gotten a slot are treated as priority and take precedence over any additional slot requests.
  3. All we guarantee to provide is a monitor and power. Developers are asked to provide any signs for their games to be used during their time slot as well as the machine to play their games on.
  4. Those in the Expo Hall, or those who have paid for spaces, take priority in slots but there are more than enough to go around so everyone will get a chance to show off.
  5. Last, but certainly not least, you will be assigned slots. These will be locked prior to the event and can not be changed day of. No additional developers will be added day of so it’s really important to request space as soon as possible!

The deadline for submitting a request to get a slot to show off in is Dec 5th, after that no new developers will be accepted as the schedule will be locked in and unable to change. So to sign up dance your wonderful selves over HERE and fill out the information needed for you to secure your very own timeslot.

We really want to celebrate our awesome, diverse indie game community and we’re so excited to be able to provide this space for indie game devs joining us this year! We really hope you join us and see all the new, awesome games in the arcade!

GX3 Volunteer Application Deadline Extended!

Greetings Future Sprites!

The GaymerX Sprite Castle is abuzz with GX3 preparations and we’re working hard to make sure it’s ready for the big event. But, we can’t make GX3 a success without help from as many Sprites as possible.  After much planning and consideration, we’ve decided to give a special Sprite Blue 1-UP to our Volunteer Application Deadline! It matches our snazzy Sprite shirts, after all.

That's totally a Sprite 1-Up Mushroom. Nothing mini here. Nope.
