GaymerX desk · updated 2026

GaymerX is a small games desk. It writes the pieces that are annoying to find anywhere else: what a thing costs, who qualifies for it, how long it takes, what to do when it fails, and which of two options is the right one for the way you actually play.

What we cover

Six sections, and they are all games: video games on PC and console, tabletop from card sleeves to crowdfunding, esports from scholarships to prize money, retro hardware and emulation, hardware you play on, and game dev for people shipping something small.

How we work

Every piece is written to still be true in a year. We do not chase announcements, we do not run review scores, and we do not publish a number we cannot stand behind — where an exact figure depends on your case, we say so instead of inventing an average. Photographs come from free archives and carry their author and licence under the picture.

The archive

This domain published for years before this desk existed. All of it stays online at its original address, including guest guides in other languages, because pages that people linked to should not turn into errors. Archive pages carry a note saying what they are. You can browse them from the archive index.

Corrections and contact

If something here is wrong, it should be fixed rather than argued about. Corrections are made in place and the piece says what changed.
